[Photo Credit: Punch Newspapers] The Court of Appeal in Abuja has ruled that the recall process of Dino Melaye, the senator representing Kogi West, be restarted. The senator had approached the appellate court in a bid to stop the process after an Abuja Federal High Court in September 2017 gave the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) the go-ahead to begin Melaye’s recall process. In the latest judgement delivered on Friday, Justice Tunde Awotoye and two other judges ruled that there was no cause for action and the Federal High Court that adjudicated the case ought not to have entertained it in the first place. The Appeal Court held that Mr. Melaye’s claim was ‘hasty, premature and presumptuous,’ Vanguard reports. The court ordered INEC to continue with the planned verification of 188,588 who reportedly signed petition for the recall. It has been revealed what referee Damir Skomina told Lionel Messi during the Champions League round of 16 clash against Chelsea on Wednesday. Messi at a point in the game clashed with the referee during Barcelona’s win over Chelsea in Camp Nou. He accused the Slovenian official of disrespecting him. The Argentine was the Catalan giants’ star man as he struck twice to help the La Liga leaders secure a 3-0 victory over the Premier League champions. Messi was involved in an altercation with Skomina towards the end of first half as he was unhappy with one of his decisions. The Argentine captain was told to shut up by Skomina during a brief break in play, and the 30-year-old took exception to being spoken to in that way. Messi then took the referee to one side and according to ESPN, the Argentine said, “You don’t speak badly to me. “I didn’t disrespect you, did I?”

There's actually no debate that Messi is still WAY BETTER than Ronaldo. Team trophies aside (which Messi has more of despite being younger), Messi is simply the better player individually. They are both incredible  goalscorers , Cristianohas several goalscoring records (Madrid’s all time top-scorer, for example) and same goes for Messi (Most goals ever scored in a single calendar year, most Clasico goals, most league goals ever scored in one season). But that is the  only  aspect in which they are somewhat comparable. No one compares them based on  playmaking ability  because Cristiano basically has no playmaking ability, unlike Messi who actually won IFFHS’s “best play-maker in the world” award the past 2 seasons. Cool FM OAP and leader of the Free Nation in Christ Daddy Freeze has revealed that he has lost almost all his friends in the entertainment industry and left with just a handful. The popular OAP made this revelation while commenting on Peter Okoye’s instagram post today. According to Daddy Freeze, Peter Okoye of the defunct PSquare group is one of the only friends he has left in the industry. Daddy Freeze who is considered a controversial celebrity especially since he began a movement against ‘Pastors’ has no doubt lost a number of relationships. Toni Iwobi, who has just been elected to the Italian Senate, has hit back at Mario Balotelli, after  the Nice striker criticised him for representing a political party renowned for causing racial controversy. Iwobi, who was born in Nigeria but has lived in Italy since the 1970s, became the first black Senator to be elected after the Lega party, led by Matteo Salvini, earned the majority of votes in Spirano. Balotelli posted a message on his Instagram story that said: “Maybe I’m blind or maybe they haven’t told him yet that he’s black – what a disgrace!” When asked about Balotelli’s message during an interview on Radio Capital, Iwobi replied: “I’d rather just ignore him. I’m not interested in what he writes. I have to deal with enough controversy. I just want to think about my territory and the new role I’ve been elected to. “He’s a great footballer and he will remain one, but I hope he sticks to his job, considering that’s what he is good at.”

According to reports, two final year students of the Abia State University have died after drowning. The two students, who were said to be buccaneers, drowned on Saturday, during a boat ride, as sailors, in Ebonyi State. They have been identified as Kelechi Elendu and Charles Benjamin Ngozichukwuka of the departments of Nursing and Medical Laboratory Technology, respectively. Friends of the deceased have taken to social media pages to show sympathy and pay tribute to their friends who they still can’t believe have passed on. Also, a 12-year-old boy, Samsodeen Adeniran, who went fishing with 4 of his friends drowned in a river on Lisaluwa Street, Ondo State. The boys were said to have gone fishing shortly after a downpour in the area.
