Beyond The Clouds trailer: Ishaan Khatter is a slumdog who dreams of becoming a millionaire in this Majid Majidi film

The earthy, homegrown feel of the film will immediately warm you up to the idea of knowing more

There's something about the India shown in films made by foreign directors. The mundane, boring and everyday stuff, suddenly becomes fresh and novel. Which are exactly what we feel about Majid Majidi's Beyond The Clouds after watching the spellbinding trailer that just dropped. The story is set against the backdrop of the hustle and bustle of Mumbai. It perfectly captures the juxtapositions that define Mumbai. The film, that has already made waves at the festival circuits, is now all set to release in India and the trailer has us excited.
While his Bollywood debut would be with Dhadak, the Hindi remake of the Marathi film, Sairat, Ishaan Khatter, already has this film on his resume. From the trailer it is evident that the debutante, who plays Amir, will be one of those to watch out for. Malavika Mohanan, as Tara, is just as promising, if not more. Without pretence or the trappings of Bollywood films, the actors seem much at ease exploring their craft, despite this being their first time in front of the camera. Additionally, the flavour of Mumbai lends itself so beautifully to the story. The earthy, homegrown feel of the film will immediately warm you up to the idea of knowing more about them and their life. But before we tell you all it is about, watch the trailer for yourself to know what we mean...

Aren't you just as bowled over as us by the visual appeal of the trailer? Produced by Zee Studios and Eyecandy Films, Beyond The Clouds is about a brother-sister relationship. "Majidi is known the world over for his true to life style of film-making laying major emphasis on retaining the authenticity of the setting and characters. Given that the film and the three languages are thematically interwoven, he has included casts from specific states and towns. He wanted them to speak in their own language in its most natural form and accent," said a spokesperson on behalf of the film s co-producers.
