[Photo Credit: Punch Newspapers] The Court of Appeal in Abuja has ruled that the recall process of Dino Melaye, the senator representing Kogi West, be restarted. The senator had approached the appellate court in a bid to stop the process after an Abuja Federal High Court in September 2017 gave the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) the go-ahead to begin Melaye’s recall process. In the latest judgement delivered on Friday, Justice Tunde Awotoye and two other judges ruled that there was no cause for action and the Federal High Court that adjudicated the case ought not to have entertained it in the first place. The Appeal Court held that Mr. Melaye’s claim was ‘hasty, premature and presumptuous,’ Vanguard reports. The court ordered INEC to continue with the planned verification of 188,588 who reportedly signed petition for the recall. Mr. Melaye is facing a recall by his constituents who in a petition on June 23 called on I

What Antonio Conte said to Lionel Messi after Barcelona win, defeated boss reveals conversation

Image
Lionel Messi helped book Barcelona’s place in the Champions League quarter-finals against Chelsea, with Antonio Conte seen in discussion with him after the game. The Argentine icon scored twice in a 3-0 win in the second leg at the Nou Camp on Wednesday night, adding to his strike at Stamford Bridge in the first leg as he was a crucial factor in the victory. Chelsea arguably played better football in the return fixture as they got themselves into plenty of threatening positions throughout the game, but couldn’t take their chances while also hitting the woodwork twice. In turn, with Barcelona not at their best, they had to rely on Messi to guide them forward, as he has done on countless occasions in the past. Much was made of the exchange between the Barcelona star and Chelsea boss Conte after the game, with BT Sport commenting on it too, as seen in the tweet below, while Gary Lineker joked in the studio that the Italian was ‘tapping him up’. Both made an attempt to cover their mo

Champions League: What Messi told referee Skomina during Barcelona’s 3-0 win over Chelsea

Image
It has been revealed what referee Damir Skomina told Lionel Messi during the Champions League round of 16 clash against Chelsea on Wednesday. Messi at a point in the game clashed with the referee during Barcelona’s win over Chelsea in Camp Nou. He accused the Slovenian official of disrespecting him. The Argentine was the Catalan giants’ star man as he struck twice to help the La Liga leaders secure a 3-0 victory over the Premier League champions. Messi was involved in an altercation with Skomina towards the end of first half as he was unhappy with one of his decisions. The Argentine captain was told to shut up by Skomina during a brief break in play, and the 30-year-old took exception to being spoken to in that way. Messi then took the referee to one side and according to ESPN, the Argentine said, “You don’t speak badly to me. “I didn’t disrespect you, did I?”

Is there still any doubt that Ronaldo CR7 is better than Messi?

Image
There's actually no debate that Messi is still WAY BETTER than Ronaldo. Team trophies aside (which Messi has more of despite being younger), Messi is simply the better player individually. They are both incredible  goalscorers , Cristianohas several goalscoring records (Madrid’s all time top-scorer, for example) and same goes for Messi (Most goals ever scored in a single calendar year, most Clasico goals, most league goals ever scored in one season). But that is the  only  aspect in which they are somewhat comparable. No one compares them based on  playmaking ability  because Cristiano basically has no playmaking ability, unlike Messi who actually won IFFHS’s “best play-maker in the world” award the past 2 seasons. Also, no one compares them based on  dribbling ability  because everyone knows Messi is light-years ahead of Cristiano (Cristiano has more unsuccessful dribble attempts than successful ones this season), while on the other hand there is obviously no need to speak abo

Barcelona v Chelsea: Why Messi scored 2 goals through my legs – Thibaut Courtois

Image
Chelsea goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois and defender Marcos Alonso have reacted to their 3-0 loss to Barcelona at Nou Camp on Wednesday. Chelsea crashed out of the Champions League losing 4-1 on aggregate after the first leg ended 1-1 at the Stamford Bridge. Chelsea goalkeeper allowed Lionel Messiscore two cheap goals through his legs and also give a superb assist to Dembele for another. The Belgian keeper said having played against Messi on several occasions he (Messi) already knows his weak point. He explained that putting the ball in between his legs was the weakest part of him because of his height. Speaking after the match Courtois said, “I don’t think we deserve to be out but individual mistakes made the difference. “I didn’t think Messi would shoot from there and I was a bit late to close my legs so that’s my mistake. “We had chances, hit the crossbar, it was mostly our individual mistakes that cost us. “I’ve played against him a lot of times and already conceded goals thr

Simi shuts down a fan who tried to compare her to Asa, saying she’s better off

Image
Nigerian singer Simi put up a beautiful display of humility and respect recently in the manner with which she shut down a fan who tried to clack her head together with that of sensational singer Asa and get them to be rivals. It all played out on Twitter, as a certain fan possibly got swept off by Simi’s new jam, #OneKain. The fan, without taking a moment to reason her thoughts, took to Twitter to declare Simi a better singer than Asa. However, she didn’t make it seem like she was clacking their heads together. But what she did was nothing short of clacking their heads. But, all thanks to the wise Simi who was able to trash the matter before it became an issue that needed to be resolved. Unlike her previous comments which got fans hating her, Simi stunned everyone with sound judgment this time and the love of fans which had somewhat dwindled, was restored in a moment. On Twitter, the fan wrote; “This lady has somewhat displaced my Asa from the game oh.” In response, Simi humbly wro
